Nari Basin

Nari Basin is a caldera formed by the collapse of a volcanic crater following volcanic activity in the late Tertiary period. The name 'Nari' originates from the island's history, where residents survived by eating the roots of 'seom-malnari' (lily) during food shortages. Spanning approximately 1.5 to 2.0㎢, it is surrounded by 500m-high mountains, including Seonginbong Peak. Designated as a National Geopark, it features trails like the Albong and Gitdaebong routes, where visitors can see unique flora like the endemic Ulleung chrysanthemum.
