Baengnyong Cave (Gangwon Geo-Park)
Located on the cliffs of Baegunsan Mountain in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, Baengnyong Cave is a representative natural limestone cave in Korea. Designated as a Natural Monument in 1979 for its academic and scenic value, 700m of its 2km length has been open to the public since 2010. As Korea's only exploration-style cave, visitors change into protective gear and explore with a professional guide. The cave features various formations like stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones, as well as wildlife such as bats and cave moths. Zone A is open for public exploration, while zones B, C, and D remain closed for preservation and safety.
